How to Set Up the Perfect Pong Table

Setting up a proper pong table is crucial for an authentic Dartmouth experience. Here's everything you need to know about table dimensions, cup placement, and proper setup.

Table Requirements

Dimensions

  • Length: 8 feet (standard)
  • Width: 2.5 feet
  • Height: 30 inches
  • Surface: Smooth, flat, and level
  • Materials

  • Standard folding table works well
  • Table tennis table can be used
  • Must be sturdy and stable
  • Surface should be clean and dry
  • Cup Setup

    Standard Formation (Tree)

  • 10 cups per side
  • Arranged in triangle formation
  • Base of triangle points away from players
  • Cups should be touching
  • Fill cups 1/3 with liquid
  • Alternative Formations

  • Shrub: 6 cups in smaller triangle
  • Line: 6-8 cups in straight line
  • Ship: 4 cups in diamond formation
